CK 5/6 & p63 with C 8/18 |
The combination of CK 5/6 & p63 with CK 8/18 can be useful in distinguishing DCIS from micro-invasive carcinoma of the breast. p63 (nuclear) and CK 5/6 (cytoplasmic) stain myoepithelial cells a complete and intense brown, whereas CK 8/18 (cytoplasmic) labels the luminal epithelial cells with Alkaline Phosphatase red. Note: dull tan-brown blushing should be regarded as non specific.
