    Dr. Victorio joined YPMG in 2007.  He obtained his medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, California and completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Loma Linda University Medical Center.  In addition, Dr. Victorio completed a fellowship in Hematopathology at LAC-USC Medical Center, Los Angeles, California.  Dr. Victorio is Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as Hematopathology.  He is the President and Medical Director of Yosemite Pathology.

    Emad Kaabipour, M.D. – Medical Director

    Dr. Kaabipour completed his combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency with Fellowship in Surgical Pathology at Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
    Dr. Kaabipour grew up in the Bay Area of Northern California.  Following his tenure as Attending Staff Pathologist at Vanguard Hospital in Massachusetts, he decided to return to his family in California and joined YPMG in 2008.  He is the Medical Director of San Ramon Regional Medical Center and Precision Pathology.

    Dr. Chang joined YPMG in 1997.  He obtained his medical degree at the National Taiwan University College of Medicine in Taipei, Taiwan.   Dr. Chang completed his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a fellowship in Research at Jefferson Cancer Institute in Philadelphia.  He also completed a fellowship in Dermatopathology at the Institute for Dermatopathology, Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Chang is Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Dermatopathology.

    Dr. Cui joined YPMG in 2003, and has served as the Cytopathology Director since 2005.  He obtained his medical degree at Beijing Medical University, Beijing, China and completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey.  Dr. Cui completed a Cytopathology fellowship at the Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York.  He is Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as Cytopathology.

    Dr. Strong joined YPMG in 2008.  He obtained his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Dr. Strong completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of California, San Diego and a fellowship in Placental Pathology at the University of California, San Diego.   In addition, he completed a fellowship in Surgical Pathology at the University of California, San Diego.  Dr. Strong is Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.

    Dr. Banankhah joined YPMG in 2010.  She obtained her medical degree at the Shiraz University of Medical Science in Iran.  She completed a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Shiraz University of Medicine and at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.   In addition, she completed a fellowship in Cytopathology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Banankhah is Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty board certification in Cytopathology.

    Dr. Emery earned his medical degree at the University Of California San Diego School Of Medicine. Dr. Emery is Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and did fellowships in Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, and fetal-maternal & placental pathology at UCSD. He was Chief Resident of Pathology at UCSD Medical Center.  Having worked for over a decade in laboratories with high volumes of endoscopic gastrointestinal biopsies, Dr. Emery’s main area of interest and expertise is gastrointestinal pathology.  He joined Merced Pathology Medical Group in 2010.

    Dr. Yang joined YPMG in April, 2015. He obtained his medical degree and PhD (Human Genetics) at University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan (2001).  He completed his Anatomic and Clinical pathology residency at UCSF (2005).  In addition, he has completed fellowships in Hematopathology and Surgical Pathology, both at UCSF (2006, 2007).  He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and Hematopathology.  For eight years, he practiced and eventually became director at a group general pathology practice in Reno, NV prior to returning to the Bay Area.

    Dr. Luu joined YPMG in August, 2015.  His medical degree was obtained at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.  He completed his pathology residency at Rhode Island Hospital – The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.  Dr. Luu has completed fellowships in Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, as well as a Molecular Genetic Pathology fellowship at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon.  Dr. Luu is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Molecular Genetic Pathology and Cytopathology.

    Dr. Bardales joined YPMG in 2017. Ricardo H. Bardales, M.D., a graduate of the Universidad de San Marcos School of Medicine in Lima, Peru, completed his pathology residency and cytopathology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City under the renowned Dr. Leopold G. Koss. He is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as Cytopathology. Formerly on the faculty of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he is active in numerous national and international pathology organizations and is frequently an invited lecturer at meetings throughout the world. He has published 5 books, various chapters, and over 70 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Bardales is fluent in Spanish.

    Dr. Tawil joined YPMG in 2017. She obtained her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed her pathology residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.     Dr. Hu joined YPMG in 2017. He earned his medical degree at West China University of Medical Sciences and completed his pathology residency at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.  Dr. Hu completed a GI and liver fellowship at Shands Hospital, University of Florida.  Dr. Hu completed a four month genitourinary (GU) fellowship training at Indiana University.  He is also very interested in Soft Tissue Pathology during his more than 20 year pathology career.  He is Board certified in Anatomic Pathology.

    Dr. Asgari joined YPMG in 2018. He obtained his medical degree from Ghazvin Medical University in Ghazvin, Iran and after 5 years of collaboration with Dr. A. Bernard Ackerman and Dr. Geoffrey Gottlieb at the Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology in New York City, he completed his residency at Northwell Health–Staten Island University Hospital. Then, Dr. Asgari completed a Dermatopathology fellowship at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is board-certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology with sub-specialty board certification in Dermatopathology. Dr. Asgari is the author of over 30-peer-reviewed publications.

    Dr. Bennet Omalu holds four board certifications in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, Forensic Pathology and Neuropathology. He also holds a Masters in Public Health [MPH] in Epidemiology and a Masters in Business Administration [MBA] from the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Omalu is a fellow of the American Association of Physician Leadership, is board-certified in Medical Management and is a Certified Physician Executive. He has received three honorary doctorate degrees in addition to numerous other awards across the world. In 2017 Dr. Omalu received the “The Distinguished Service Award”, which is the highest award of the American Medical Association. Dr. Omalu has published many scientific papers, books and book chapters and his work and life have been featured across the world across all media platforms including award winning books, documentaries and in a Hollywood movie, “Concussion” in which Will Smith played Dr. Omalu. He lives in Sacramento, California with his wife and two children.

He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the Maimonides Medical Center (Brooklyn, New York), followed by a fellowship in dermatopathology at the Institute of Dermatopathology, Jefferson Medical College under the direction of the world-renowned expert Dr. A. Bernard Ackerman (Philadelphia, PA). Dr. Chaudhari spent the last two decades of his career specializing in inflammatory and neoplastic conditions. It is, and has always been, his mission to provide superior dermatopathology services to his patients.

Dr. Hejazi is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with a subspecialty board certification in cytopathology. She brings 11 years of pathology experience to YPMG. She has a passion for cytopathology as it is a means of delivering rapid non-invasive diagnosis.

    Dr. Fogel earned his medical degree at the Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia then completed his pathology training at USC Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Fogel is board certified with the American Board of Pathology. He is currently serving as the medical director for the laboratories at Adventist Health Bakersfield, Bakersfield Heart Hospital, and Quest Imaging. Dr. Fogel has also been serving as the Clinical Research Pathologist at AIS Cancer Center since 2014.  Dr. Fogel joined Bakersfield Pathology in 1994.

    Dr. Hakim joined YPMG in 2022. She obtained her medical degree in 2006 at University of Aleppo followed by her Anatomic Pathology Residency in her home country, Syria. After moving to the United States she completed her Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency at University of Kentucky, Lexington where she served as the Chief Resident until 2020. She then completed a fellowship in Hematopathology at University of San Francisco in 2021. Dr. Hakim has a special interest in bone marrow pathology and lymph node pathology. She is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with a subspecialty board certification in Hematopathology.

    Dr. Hardee joined YPMG in 2023. He completed his undergraduate in Microbiology at the University of California, Santa Barbara and obtained his medical degree in 2006 at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York followed by his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven Connecticut. Dr. Hardee then completed his Pediatric Pathology Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital as well as his Hematopathology Fellowship Yale School of Medicine, Yale New Haven Hospital. He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty board certifications in Hematopathology and Pediatric Pathology.

    Dr. Hardee has a passion for hematopathology as it bridges anatomic and clinical pathology and the usual diagnostic work-up requires integration of multiple techniques like immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and molecular cytogenetics. He also enjoys pediatric pathology due to the challenge of patient population unique neoplasms and clinical problems not found in the adult population. Dr. Hardee is originally from the East Bay Area and is excited to be back in California closer to friends and family. His first job in pathology was in Fresno, he is no stranger to the central valley and looking forward to serving the area again with YPMG.

  • Donald Sayet, M.D.

    Donald Sayet, M.D.

    Dr. Sayet joined YPMG in 2023. He attended University of Florida on a golf scholarship where he became a consummate student athlete on the national champion golf team; he excelled in Honor Roll and became a member of the prestigious pre-med honor society, Alpha Epsilon Delta. Dr. Sayet obtained his medical degree in 1973 followed by his residency at University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He was the Assistant Professor of Pathology at University of Miami. Dr. Sayet has been in private practice for 40 years and brings a wealth of experience in general pathology. He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.

    Dr. Sayet’s top priority is patient well-being and safety as well as developing and keeping good relationships with clinical colleagues and support staff. He is excited to be part of Yosemite Pathology Medical Group and be an asset to the community.
