Spogmai Wassimi, M.D.

Dr. Wassimi joined YPMG in 2026. She holds a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Montreal in Canada in 2009. She then earned her medical degree in 2013 from the University of Sherbrooke School of Medicine in Canada. Dr. Wassimi completed her Pathology Residency at Baptist Medical Centers in Birmingham, Alabama in 2023 followed by her Fellowship in Surgical Pathology at the University of Florida School of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. She is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and holds medical licensure in California and Alabama.

Dr. Wassimi brings experience and expertise in surgical pathology and has authored peer-reviewed research focused on birth outcomes among First Nations populations in Canada and has participated in academic and research initiatives at several Canadian institutions, including McGill University, the University of Montreal, and the University of British Columbia. She has published in journals such as BMJ Case Reports, the American Journal of Clinical Pathology, and the Open Women’s Health Journal, among others, and has presented her work at both national and international conferences.
